Well done to Dressage Team GB for winning their br

Well done to Dressage Team GB for winning their bronze medals.

I was in awe of every test @charlotte_dujardincbe @carlhestermbe @lottie_fry. They were all amazing.

I had a lesson today and we did some poles. After watching all the Olympians I tried desperately to keep my hands still. They are getting better but there’s still a long way to go.

He was a bit reticent to work at the start but did put the required effort in. Lots of cantering today.

If only I could Riley as straight as this horse.

Emma my instructor was running sessions on the mechanical horse with Franklin balls so I thought I would go along to help improve my seat.

It was such fun and I picked up some useful information and areas I need to work on.

The canter was amazing and I didn’t lose my stirrups which I always do with Riley.

I’m going again in a couple of weeks.

I had a ridden lunge lesson today to help improve

I had a ridden lunge lesson today to help improve my seat.

We started in walk and trot then Emma announced we would be cantering. After the initial moment of shock it was good to canter without having to think about steering and just concentrate on my seat.

It’s also smother reminder his far Riley had come as at the start of the year he wouldn’t have cantered on the lunge.

Riley and I went hacking today with Onyx and Sophi

Riley and I went hacking today with Onyx and Sophie.

It was the first time since moving to the new yard six months ago that we’ve been off it.

Onyx has only been off the yard a couple of times so we weren’t sure how eventful or hopefully uneventful it would be.

The trickiest time was getting off the yard as there is an electric gate that Onyx is a fan of and Riley hadn’t seen before.

Once past the offending electric gate both horses were super. There is a very small section of the route on the road and I must admit I was nervous.

Poor Onyx and Sophie had to go at Riley’s very slow pace, he doesn’t do speedy on hacks.

Happy ponies and people though.

Shoulder in. Can’t quite believe I’m writing

Shoulder in.

Can’t quite believe I’m writing this but for the first time ever yesterday I did shoulder in, well attempted it.

I was having a lesson with Emma and we had been doing leg yields and then she asked me to should in.

I have seen her do it in Riley but I’ve never done it before so I had to ask how to do it.

It didn’t look anywhere near as polished as when Emma does it however I was so excited and couldn’t quite believe where Riley and I are on our journey together.
